Damian Piccolo, president of Anden Solutions, recently co-authored a book chapter on developing simulations to train teachers. The chapter is titled “Designing Commercial Simulations for Teachers” and appears in the book Digital Simulations for Improving Education: Learning Through Artificial Teaching Environments, edited by David Gibson and Youngkyun Baek. The chapter is based on a line of simulations that Piccolo developed for aha! Process, Inc. to train teachers in classroom management strategies. Key features of this chapter include strategies for promoting reusability in simulation design and providing meaningful but unobtrusive feedback during practice sessions.
